There are many misconceptions about dieting and weight management. We are convinced that quick weight loss is not only manageable, but effortless. Diet pills have replaced healthy foods, and Atkins recipes have taken the place of mom’s homemade meatloaf. Our society is missing the point in many aspects of weight loss. Nothing permanent is done quickly, and losing weight is no exception. Actually, it is quite the opposite. Losing weight and managing a nutritious diet is one of the most difficult undertakings any of us make.
A missing aspect of weight loss programs programs is psychological and behavioral. Obesity is noted as an epidemic, but life hasn’t always been about managing weight. Process foods and drive-thrus are convenient for their fast service and tasty food, but they are lacking in nutrients and most importantly, packed with food additives and preservatives. Common sense no longer has a place in managing our weight. We like to eat what we want and as much as we want. It quickly does not make sense to outsiders. Losing weight takes dedication and careful planning. Make good common sense with foods and you will lose weight. Take time out of everyday to go for a walk and enjoy the outdoors.
