Mayo Clinic Diet – It Might Look Familiar

The recently popular mayo clinic diet may look a little familiar to you.  It appears to have some of the attributes shared by the grapefruit diet.  The mayo clinic does not claim responsibility for the diet, and does not approve of the diet for health and fitness.  The so called mayo diet is a strict fourteen day diet, with twelve days on and two off.  Filled with grapefruit, salads, eggs, and even bacon, the mayo diet may sound a little fishy.  The diet is designed to burn fat by boosting your metabolism.

Mayo Diet – Specific to Clinical Functions

You must be careful if you decide to follow a diet plan such as the coined mayo clinic version.  Rumor has it that the mayo clinic uses the diet for quick weight loss for patients needing surgery.  Unless you fit the description and are attending the mayo clinic, it is probably best to find another program, perhaps the south beach or Atkins low carb diet.  Diets are tricky business and you must have lots of information.  The mayo clinic is world renowned, and you must take their association with fad diets with a grain of salt.
