Cholesterol Diet - You Are What You Eat

Lower your cholesterol with diet - stay away from the pills

Changing your ways to a low cholesterol diet is really not that difficult.  There are many specific diets like Atkins and the DASH diet that can help you control what you eat, but learning more about healthy food will allow you to rely less those diets.  There are many people that have high cholesterol that can be managed simply by diet.  High cholesterol is due to eating foods that are high in saturated fats that force your body into making excess cholesterol.  Cutting back on these foods that are high in fat, especially saturated fats, will help balance your cholesterol.

Saturated fats are found in fatty red meats, poultry, and dairy products.  The diet does not have to eliminate these cholesterol containing foods, but your portions should be lowered.  Many times our diet will consists of cholesterol rich foods like steak, with little other foods on the side.  By making good cholesterol foods like vegetables and fruit a larger part of the main course, downsize the high cholesterol food portions.  Through weight loss, nutrition, and fitness, you’ll find the valuable happy medium to cholesterol and other health conditions.
